Tour itinerary

Day 1: Yangon Sightseeing & Mandalay (N/A)

Arrive at Yangon International Airport and welcome by our tour guide. Check in to hotel. Yangon sightseeing includes; Chaukhtatgyi (Reclining Buddha) Pagoda a colossal reclining Buddha, Kandawgyi Lake which is closed to the city center and is a good place for a walk. This lake is most attractive at sunset when the glittering Shwedagon is reflected in its calm water. And visit colonial style buildings surrounding Mahabandula Park. Then drive to stroll through a narrow street of ChinaTown including the short visit to Tao Temple. Then, shortly before sunset, the 107 meters high golden stupa of Shwedagon Pagoda will glitter in the soft light of the early evening. In the evening transfer to Hi-way Bus Stop for Mandalay by Express Night Bus. Overnight in bus.
Day 2: Mandalay – Amarapura (N/A)

Early morning arrive at Mandalay and check in to hotel. After check in, excursion to Amarapura; visit Mahaganyon Monastery, where more than a thousand monks live and study and visit to U Bein Bridge. There you can take a walk over the world’s longest teakwood bridges. Continue drive to Mandalay visit to Maha Myat Muni Pagoda. The legendary pagoda is home to one of Myanmar's most revered Buddha Images which have been covered with so many layers of gold leaf over the years that they now have an almost lumpy surface. While in Mandalay you will have the opportunity to visit several workshops and learn about the city's traditional industries, such as Kalaga Tapestry production and wood carving which have remained unchanged of centuries. In the afternoon, you will visit the Kuthodaw Pagoda, nicknamed the "World's Biggest Book" because of the 729 stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures, before heading to the Shwenandaw Monastery, the only building of the Royal Palace built in the 19th century still standing and it's famous for its exquisite wooden carvings. To round off your day of sightseeing you'll then take a 45 minute walk up the 900 stairs to the top of Mandalay Hill as the sun begins to set – a walk commonly made by locals who often make a pilgrimage to the peak. By the time you reach the summit the sun will be putting on a show as it dips down behind the city-Mother Nature giving you a breathtaking moment to savor forever. Once the sun has dipped down beyond the horizon.Overnight at hotel in Mandalay.
Day 3: Mandalay – Mingun – Sagaing – Ava (Innwa) - Yangon (B)

After breakfast at hotel, depart from Mandalay on a private boat along the Ayeyarwaddy River to visit Mingun, a village on the west bank of the river. Visit in MingunPathotawgyi, the world renowned ringing MingunBell,MyatheintanPagoda and surrounding villages. Proceed to capitals of Sagaing, Ava. Firstly you'll cross the Ayeyarwaddy River to Sagaing; known as the religious center of Myanmar in the northwest of the country bordering India. Sagaing is home to over 3000 monks and 600 pagodas and you'll have the opportunity to meet some of these monks as you visit eminent pagodas like U Min ThoneSae and Swan OoPonNya Shin. While in Sagaing you'll have the chance to spend time at a typical Burmese market, selling a range of goods including local handicrafts. You'll also stop at a pottery village to see the process of water pots being hand-crafted by expert tradesmen. After Sagaing you'll continue by private vehicle on to Ava, a former capital of the Burmese Kingdom from 1364 to 1841. Your Backyard Travel guide will then take you on a leisurely tour of the quaint streets by local horse cart, allowing you to experience everyday life in the countryside as you visit the old wooden Bagaya Monastery and the remains of the Royal Palace and Fort. In the evening return to Mandalay and flight back to Yangon. Overnight at hotel in Yangon.
Day 4: Yangon Sightseeing & Departure (B)

After breakfast at hotel, shopping at Bogyoke (or) Scott Market a famous shopping center to enjoy display of Myanmar handicraft (Note: Market is closed on Mondays and Public Holidays). And proceed to visit Kaba Aye (World peace) Pagoda, it was also known as the " World Peace Pagoda" and Mahapasana Cave, where the sixth Buddhist synod took place. On the way visit to Kyauktawgyi Pagoda also known as Lawka Chanthar Arbayar Labamuni Buddha Image at Minn Dhamma Hill, there is an Elephant house where the three white elephants are kept. And then transfer to Yangon International Airport for Departure.
